IMPORTANT!! O.I.A.R. ALERT MESSAGE!
Right now it is very important that you express to the state legislature that you care about individuals with Autism and other Disabilities. (Lawmakers use the word disabled). For the next month or two the Oregon Autism Project is asking for support from Oregon Legislature to pass laws to help protect individuals and services.
Whether you know anyone, are related to someone, or are directly affected, we need you to email or write your Oregon Representatives and Senators TODAY!!!
It’s SIMPLE.
1. Find the name, email address of your state senator and representative. We have included names and emails of key people involved. Emailing them all will do wonders for our cause.
2. Go online, go to your email and type in legislators email address. We proved email addresses below. Put “Oregon Autism Project” or “We support Alter-abled Individuals” in the subject.
3. Type your message. We provided a sample email below:
Dear [Senators and/or Representatives name(s)]
[As your constituent or as a concerned voter] I would like to show my support for individuals with Autism and other disabilities. I support legislation that promotes civil rights, inclusion, and accountability to agencies that violate the laws that protect individuals with disabilities and their educational services.
I would greatly appreciate your help in passing legislation this session.
Respectfully, [your name]

The Organization for Inclusion, Acceptance, and Respect promotes and informs everyone about the concept of Inclusion. The OIAR focuses on Inclusion as a philosophy that benefits society through education. Inclusion should be a goal of education and the foundation of society, bringing all types of students and people together to create a social or school environment that is based on acceptance, belonging, and a respect for everyone. We all need to learn how to live with each other. Inclusion teaches us how.
1. Include and invite alter-abled individuals into your lives.
2. At least try to accept individuals for who they are. Try to act either through expression or by conduct with admittance or approval so that all individuals feel they are being regarded as normal.
3. Truly respect individuals everyday, anyway you can.
